A fun day on the beach and in/on the water.

Location: Loughbeg Beach, Ringaskiddy
Recommend gear:
- swim gear/wetsuit
- personal flotation device (PFD) (if your cub has one)
- towel
- T-shirt and shorts for swim test (see below)
- change of clothes
- sun hat
- sun cream
- snacks/lunch
- plenty of water
As part of the event all participants are required to undergo a (fun) swim test. This is a Scouting Ireland requirement (“Cubs should be able to swim at least 20m in shirt, shorts and footwear suitable for boating and thereafter remain afloat for 2 minutes”) for all water based activities. Your cub does not need to be a great swimmer, but they will need to be comfortable in the water. It will be a 20m swim while wearing shorts and t-shirt. Please send some suitable clothing for that along.
Activities on the day will include:
- Sailing
- Kayaking
- Raft building
- Games on the beach
Car parking is limited, car pooling would alleviate the pressure.
