Please fill out this form &amp; return it at any of the camp meetings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/test.apeoconsulting.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/SIF-11A-10-Managing-Medications-Form-DSF.pdf\" data-type=\"attachment\" data-id=\"308\">Managing Medication Form<\/a> &#8211;&nbsp;<\/strong>This is required for anyone who will be taking medications while we&#8217;re away.&nbsp; Check expiry date!&nbsp;Apply for a new one in good time: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ireland.ie\/en\/dfa\/passports\/passport-online\/\">https:\/\/www.ireland.ie\/en\/dfa\/passports\/passport-online\/<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC): <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.hse.ie\/services\/schemes-allowances\/ehic\/apply\/\">https:\/\/www2.hse.ie\/services\/schemes-allowances\/ehic\/apply\/<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/test.apeoconsulting.com\/uniform\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"100\">Full Uniform<\/a> &#8211; We will depart in full uniform.&nbsp; <strong>No exceptions!<\/strong>&nbsp; Now is a great time to check that you have all parts of your uniform. Uniforms can be purchased online only &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/thescoutshop.ie\/collections\/scouts\">https:\/\/thescoutshop.ie\/collections\/scouts<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/test.apeoconsulting.com\/uniform\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"100\">Spare neckerchief<\/a> &#8211; Not essential, useful as a spare, or for swapping.&nbsp; (You must always have a Douglas \/ St. FinBarre&#8217;s neckerchief, so if you\u2019ve only one with you, then you can\u2019t swap it if the opportunity should arise).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/test.apeoconsulting.com\/hiking-boots\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"315\">Hiking boots<\/a> will be necessary.  (It is <strong>vital<\/strong> to \u201cwear in\u201d hiking boots. &nbsp;If you need to or choose to buy new boots, you <strong>must<\/strong> have them \u201cworn in\u201d before camp or you\u2019ll be <strong>very<\/strong> uncomfortable in them!)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water bottle \u2013 At least 1 litre \u2013 possible 2 x 500ml\u2019s would be a good idea.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/test.apeoconsulting.com\/sleeping-bags\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"239\">Sleeping Bag<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>\u2013 The sleeping bag is a must! You will need it!<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(Inflatable) Pillow (if you like)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pillow Case &nbsp;(there may be pillows in the chalet but you will NOT be able to use them without a pillow case that you bring yourself)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tracksuits\/Leggings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Warm Sweater<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>T-Shirts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Changes of Underwear<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plenty of Socks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Warm Nightwear<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Change of Shoes or Runners<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>House shoes (slippers, flip flops, &#8230;) &#8211; the hostel are very strict about no &#8220;outdoor footwear&#8221; to be worn inside<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shorts &amp; Trousers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Raingear \u2013 Waterproof Jacket &amp; Trousers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Warm Hat &amp; Gloves<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wash Gear \u2013 Toothbrush &amp; paste, Shower Gel, Shampoo, Comb<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Towel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Swimwear &amp; hat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tea-Towel &amp; Dish Cloth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sun hat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sun cream &amp; lip salve<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/test.apeoconsulting.com\/headlights-torches\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"236\">Torch<\/a> &amp; spare batteries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rucksack or similar type hold all<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Day trip bag<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sunglasses&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>(Nothing expensive please!)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walking Socks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/#tick-born-encephalitis\">Insect repellent<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>There are no clothes washing facilities in the chalet&nbsp;and there are no launderette facilities<\/strong> anywhere in the vicinity \u2013 so either have enough clothes for the duration or be prepared to do a hand wash yourself!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>main rucksacks<\/strong> will be going onto the coach before we leave Cork,&nbsp;<strong>and will not be available again until we get to Switzerland.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everything needed for the journey will have to be packed in the <strong>day bag<\/strong>.&nbsp; We would recommend that this would at least contain:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Change of clothes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wash gear &amp; towel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Water bottle<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Swimwear<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optional: sleeping bag &#8211; would add to the comfort on the journey<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"tick-born-encephalitis\">Tick-born encephalitis<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nearly all of Switzerland is an at-risk area for TBE (tick-born encephalitis). For advice we recommend the following sites:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/travelhealthpro.org.uk\/country\/216\/switzerland#Vaccine_Recommendations\">https:\/\/travelhealthpro.org.uk\/country\/216\/switzerland#Vaccine_Recommendations<\/a><br>and <br><a href=\"https:\/\/travelhealthpro.org.uk\/disease\/173\/tick-borne-encephalitis\">https:\/\/travelhealthpro.org.uk\/disease\/173\/tick-borne-encephalitis<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Should you be concerned:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Vaccination for TBE is available &#8211; consider discussing this with your GP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmb.ie\/destinations\/vaccinations-for-switzerland\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"tmb.ie\">TMB<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boots.ie\/vaccinations\/travel-vaccination-service\">Boots <\/a>offer a vaccination service for TBE<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"money\"><strong>Money<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All travel, meals, activities, admissions etc. are included in the camp fee. Spending money will only be needed for presents or souvenirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Adelboden area is very rural. There are <strong>no guarantees<\/strong> that cards will work &#8211; it&#8217;s very likely they won&#8217;t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We strongly suggest that spending money is brought in Swiss francs \u2013 at least some of it (i.e. not relying on your card for everything). A camp bank system will be offered whereby we can take care of any cash for you until it is needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Obtaining Swiss Francs:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not all Irish banks supply foreign currency. Please check with your bank!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Bank of Ireland<\/strong>: Swiss Francs can be ordered <a href=\"https:\/\/form.bankofireland.com\/personal-banking\/bank\/international-payments\/foreign-currency\/foreign-currency-order-form\/?_gl=1*3252q1*_ga*NzkzMjYzNzQ5LjE3MTgyODY2Mjk.*_ga_9RNYMFP1NM*MTcxODI4NjYyOC4xLjEuMTcxODI4NjY2NC4yOS4wLjA.\">online<\/a>.
